Keeping At It

Peter Johnson, 30 min. 2 miles.

We hauled out some rain gear, realize now that walking from home base allows being able to dry off, change out of wet clothing, take a post walk nap, eat . . .

Peter Johnson

5-18 Peter Johnson, 30 min. 2 mi.

5-21 Peter Johnson, 30 min. 2 mi.

5-22 Peter Johnson, 30 min. 2 mi.

Weight is running in the 224 lbs range, 28%

It's been raining, but we get out and walk anyway. I get wet. It's 30 minutes / 2 miles, and when I get back I can warm up and dry out, stash the wet togs in the laundry room, and rest, take a nap. We're working to do this walking whether I feel like it or not, first thing in the AM when I get up and get going.

Recommencing to Recommence

"Weight of the Nation" -- on HBO.

If fear and loathing results in progress, then I'm progressing!

I walked Peter Johnson last night and again this mid-morning. It FEELS GOOD -- a specific palliative solution for a lot of angst, depression, existential anomie . . .

2.01 miles, and I'm doing it in about 30 min. w/ walking poles.

Weight is UP -- 222.3 and 31% My diet is fur Schlecht. We need to get back to the veggies and fish routine, do some steaming. The GOOD NEWS is that my blood glucose is under control in spite of myself.

Back At It -- Once Again, Some More

My pal Lindsey got me out walking "Scout" -- Carley's pooch. So I've been squeezing in about 30 min. of walking, three days in a row now. Beginning to adjust to rain and gaps/glitches in schedules . . . keeping at it regularly rather than religiously.

Link from Motorcyclist Cafe provides some excellent discussion of the health benefits of walking regularly . . . Diabetes, heart disease, stress, depression:

Weight is down -- circa 217 lbs, 27% fat.

Diet still undergoing diabetes 2 adjustment. I need to eat, will stop at McDonald's to get food even though it's high fat, high salt. It's a better option than going hypoglycemic.

I'm Not Keeping Accurate Account

Sometimes I enter the walks here, sometimes not. Walked Peter J. yesterday in dry weather, today in the rain. Monday I walked around CostCo. Diet is scattered, erratic.

Ahhhhhhhh, but I need to get fit for hiking Tikaboo Peak in NV. Haul some optics up the 8,000 summit and have a look at Area 51.

Back At It -- Some More

Walk this AM to the end of Peter Johnson Rd. Diet has been "grinding" on me. We're in a rut and stressed by the seeming restrictions. We're not comfortable w/ accessing food "on the road" or even away from home.

Bg went up to 165 Thursday. This AM it was 113. We've been running above the target 125 for a week or so and need to "get with the program." Better food choices and more consistent exercise. This would be a rapprochement rebound from too rigid/extreme and an ultimate reaction to the rigidity.
